Things to see and do near Greve in Chianti

Agriturismo “Il Santo” vacation accommodations are situated in the Chianti hills just over one km from Panzano and Greve in Chianti. Agriturismo “Il Santo” has extensive grounds with its own vineyards and olive groves, and with oak and chestnut forests on some of the hilly ridges around about. Walking paths and dirt roads allow visitors to traverse these beautiful surroundings and to visit the farmhouses, villas and churches on foot and by car. During mushroom season, you can readily collect porcini mushrooms in the forest. Deer, wild boar and other wild animals are frequently to be seen (and heard!). The tiny Chiesa di San Leone a Melazzano is right across the road from Agriturismo “Il Santo” and two 13 C antiquities from this church, a chasuble and brocade stole, can be seen in the Museum of San Francesco in Greve.

Both Panzano and Greve in Chianti have numerous shops and restaurants, and Greve has a well-stocked Coop supermarket and a Saturday morning market.
